SALVATION IS STILL FREE!

As I walked down a street yesterday, an Airtel vendor tried to force me to collect a SIM card.
'Aunty we no dey sell am'
'I no want' was my prompt response as I passed her without even giving her a glance.
Then the Holy Spirit began to speak in my heart
'Men have no value for salvation because it is offered to them free '

I began to imagine a world where there was a price tag to get into heaven, I'm talking in terms of an actual price in either dollars,Euro,pounds,rand,yen,naira. What do you think salvation would cost? What does it cost to live in the most expensive part of your city ? How many people can afford to live there?

I know for sure I wouldn't be able to afford it just like most of you. Only the stupendously and tremendously wealthy can afford to . It might cost a Bill Gates and others in his class a huge chunk of their wealth to afford to live in that Crystal city where the streets are paved with gold. Maybe they too might not be able to afford it.

Imagine a world where the only other destination is Hell and you can't afford to get into heaven . You live knowing you are on a slow onward journey to the other way....a lake of fire, where demons torture men and women in every unimaginable way.
Imagine that kind of  earth.

People would wish they where never born,there would be no joy in life knowing you are doomed from the very day you where born. People would kill , steal and do anything to secure their eternal destination. That would be everyone's life ambition. You ask a little child in a classroom ,,'who do you want to be when you grow up' and he'll probably answer, ' I want to be soooo rich I can afford to pay the bills to get into heaven for me and my family'. Life would be hopeless and dreary.

Men would not seek to know God because there would be nothing to want to know about such a cruel God! He will be tagged elitist and  impossible. Catering only to those who can pay their way through.

Reality: last time I checked salvation is still FREE! and the gospel still as simple as ABC. Everyone can afford it. The poor ,the rich,the maimed, the blind, the outcasts, the lonely, the divorced, the abused....Everyone.

My bad! Salvation is not free, it was never free, just that someone paid in full when we couldn't afford it.  And when the very last dime left His account to pay for our salvation He said to God, His Father, 'IT IS FINISHED'!

God is hurt and angry not because of our numerous uncountable sins but because we reject and neglect what He gave freely... His last and His One and Only.
